Hundreds of readers responded to
our survey on oral drugs, expressing
a variety of opinions.
Side effects were by far the largest
concern. Many said they would like
to see more long-term safety data.
And, according to 44% of respondents, their health-care professionals
also felt more research was needed.
Respondents interested in trying
an oral drug cited their reasons why,
the most common (53%) being that
they found injections scary and/or
painful. Forty-seven percent said an
oral drug would suit their lifestyle
better; 41% said they were ready for
a change.
